An unrestricted category A licence permits higher-powered motorcycles. In Switzerland, direct access is generally from age 25. Riders can also progress after holding the restricted category A licence for the required period and meeting the relevant conditions.

Electric power delivery deserves attention here. An electric motorcycle can provide immediate torque from a standstill, so a bike that appears modest on paper can still feel quick in traffic.
